What is The Working Mind (TWM)?

The Working Mind is an evidence‑based workplace mental health program designed to strengthen mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and build psychologically safe and supportive workplace cultures.

Originally developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (Opening Minds), The Working Mind is internationally recognised and has been delivered to thousands of employees and leaders across a wide range of industries. The program is being introduced to Australia from 2026, with local adaptation for Australian workplaces.

At The Wellbeing Campus, The Working Mind is offered as a proactive, upstream approach to workplace mental health, supporting people early, strengthening resilience, and normalising safe conversations about mental health at work

Supporting Your Team

Tailored for supervisors and team-leaders — how to create psychologically safe environments, support individuals in distress, and respond to critical incidents or ongoing workplace stress.

Why The Working Mind matters

Workplace mental health is not only about responding to crisis — it is about creating environments where people feel safe, supported and equipped to manage everyday pressures.

The Working Mind helps organisations to:

  • Reduce stigma associated with mental health in the workplace

  • Improve early recognition of mental health changes

  • Strengthen coping and resilience skills

  • Build psychologically safe teams

  • Support a mentally healthy workplace culture

This program complements Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) by focusing on prevention, awareness and culture‑building, while MHFA focuses on responding to mental health crises.
